Put bicarbonate of soda down plug holes, pour on white vinegar and put your hand over the plug hole - should clear any blockage and clean your pipes. Wash down well afterwards to avoid pipe corrosion.
Mix quarter cup white vinegar with 2.5 cups of water and half a teaspoon of washing up liquid to make an all purpose cleaner. Soak your shower head or laundry detergent tray in white vinegar for an hour then use a toothbrush to remove the scale. Wash well afterwards in clean water. Test on a small area first. Don't mix with bleach or use in washing machines or dishwashers as it can degrade the rubber seals.
